A Response to the Xenophobic Violence

Dion has posted a letter from a friend of his in Johannesburg who is doing something concrete about the xenophobic violence through Calvary Methodist Church. He’s got a few suggestions on how we can help. Please go over to Dion’s blog, read it and seriously consider how you might help.

Thanks Dion and Alan for your efforts.

Thanks so much for the help Stephen. You’re a gift!

We need to get together some time when you’re available. It is great to be back in Cape Town.

    Rich blessing,

    Dion

Good on Calvary Methodist Church and all those who support her. According to Proverbs 19:17 they will have little regret. For ‘He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.’

I know it’s of little value to us now but here’s a fine example of a Christian community providing a long-term solution to the refugee problem- and doing so on a community level (refer to ‘Total Church’, ch.4 Social Action). The main reason it’s unhelpful to us now is because it’s in Moscow (not the same place where Man.United recently robbed Chelsea either, but in Moscow, Idaho!).
